How to Send Email from N41 (Desktop version)

With this feature, you can send an email with a print form saved as a PDF/EXCEL file and attached to the email.
For the email function to work correctly, you need to configure these two:

  1. Printer Setup
    1. Ghostscript Application
      1. N41 pops up message box to ask permission to download the application if not installed. If you do not see the message, it's already installed on your PC.

    2. PDF Printer Setup
      1. Go to Device and Printers in Windows Control Panel
      2. Click Add a Printer
      3. Stop Searching for available printers and add printer manually by using The printer that I want isn't listed
      4. Choose Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings
      5. For printer port, choose Use an existing port: LPT1
      6. For printer driver, choose HP, HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS
      7. Change the name of the printer to Sybase DataWindow PS

Email SetupSteps





  1. Go to N41 > System > Setup > Email Setup










SMTP Server: SMTP server name

SMTP Authenticate: Specifies the mechanism used when authenticating to an SMTP service over the network. Possible values are:

  1. value 0. Do not authenticate.
  1. value 1. Use basic clear-text authentication. When using this option, you have to provide the user name and password through the senduername and sendpassword fields.
  1. value 2. The current process security context is used to authenticate with the service.


SMTP Server Port: SMTP server port (e.g., Gmail Server: 465<using SSL>, Exchange: 25/465)

Sender Name: Email Account User name

Sender Email PWD: Email Account Password







  1. Click Print

  1. Click Email For PDF/EXCEL. This is populated with data on the Email Setup information. When the window is open, the PDF/EXCEL file for the print form is attached. And it is automatically filled in the email information depending on the Email Type.

  1. Click Send


Use preset placeholders such as [ADDR] to autopopulate the customer's address (if available).
